“Jemison, Alabama is a town of a few thousand people, and it’s a community that loves the small town feel that they have.
It’s a great place to live, this small town living.
The people here are hometown people. The people are just the best.
A lot of people just see us as a two-red-light town and just something to fly through, but we do have a lot of people that do mean a lot to this community, and they do help this community grow as it should.
Uniti Fiber has helped make this town even better, because people in Jemison, they love Jemison. They don’t want to have to travel even 15 minutes down the road to a bigger city. They’re able to meet more of their needs now at home.
Here at Active Tractor, we try to take care of our local community’s needs for parts and service of lawnmowers, tractors, and sales of new lawnmowers. We also have a small hardware store where we take care of their local needs.
We are the only grocery store within 10 to 15 miles, either way, from Clanton to Calera. We strive to have good customer service, and that’s our daily motto kind of thing, to have that excellence in everything that we do.
We work for contractors from small to large. We do metal studs, Sheetrock, batt insulation, acoustical ceilings, EIF and stucco for the exterior of the buildings.
We work at making people feel at home and accepted and included. We meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM for our regular church services with Children’s Ministry during that time. Otherwise, we are out in the community delivering Meals on Wheels. We do pantry outreaches. We try to be involved in our community as much as possible, reaching out to those that maybe are not so fortunate.
Professional Computing Solutions has been serving customers in Chilton County for a little over 20 years. Our goal at the end of every day is for our customers to be able to get their work done and not be struggling or wondering how they’re going to get something done IT related.
Connectivity for A and E is everything, from estimating to ordering materials, emails. Without it, it literally shuts us down.
We have credit card processing. We look up parts, we order parts.
Using your EBT card, your WIC card, it goes through doing checks. Debit card, credit card, all that goes through the internet. We also use it to connect to our warehouse so that we can send orders, we can download pricing and all that that we have to have on a daily basis.
Connectivity is important for those that need to connect with us online, and connecting with people that maybe that’s the only place that they have to connect with us for a word of encouragement or uplifting, or maybe connecting with us for outreaching, for help.
All of our customers have something that they need reliable internet connectivity in today’s world, and that matters, especially for customers like Jemison Dental Care, who are the only dental care office in the town of Jemison. And so if they didn’t have internet for two to three days, they couldn’t properly pull up records for their patients. And so it either made them unable to see patients or caused them extra work on the backend to have to go in, once the internet came back online, to enter in all that information into their medical records.
Before Uniti, it was kind of rough. I will say rough. We were probably days without internet connections at a time.
I would say probably on average once every couple weeks, we would be shut down at a time or two. It was just pretty consistent. It seemed like every time it rained, we would be shut down.
We were having to keep a cell phone hotspot to maintain credit card processing because of the frequency of downtime. We would lose customers because it took up so long to look up their parts. It really became a drag on our business.
Yeah, it is really disheartening to see a lot of the people that would come in. They would have to leave their buggies because they don’t have cash to pay for their groceries to go home.
Since a number of our customers have been switched over to Uniti Fiber, we have not had any outages. So it’s been reliable for us, for our customers,
So now that we’ve come onboard with Uniti, we have no excuse to not get things done due to our internet services. You can get in touch with people when you need to be able to get in touch with people and you’re not sitting there on hold for hours. When we call, you all answer.Uniti Fiber is fantastic. We’ve been up and business has been picking up right and left because of being able to service the customers.
It’s amazing how when something is so dependable, you forget about how bad it was before.
If somebody was having any trouble with connectivity at all and was thinking about the option of moving over to Uniti Fiber, I would 100% push them that direction. 100%, no questions asked. I don’t know why you wouldn’t do it.
We’ve been so satisfied and so happy that we’ve got that service. I think it would be worth your time to talk to Uniti Fiber.
I just don’t know of any other way to describe it, it really has been great for our business.
I’d tell anybody around town of any business that they are crazy because they do not go with Uniti Fiber. If you have any doubts, get rid of the doubt. Go with Uniti.
Our customer’s quality of life and quality of service to their customers, I think has improved greatly since Uniti Fiber got involved with their businesses, especially in small towns like Jemison, where they often are one of the few places that provides a good or a need, whether that’s going to the dentist and being able to get dental work done, if that’s going to church and being able to pull up even the Bible app on their phone, or a church being able to livestream their services for people who didn’t make it to church that Sunday; pulling up reports, sending emails, the quality of their business has been improved because of what Uniti Fiber has done.
