Here at Orthodontic Design Company, we are honestly revolutionizing what orthodontics is. So when you walk in the door, whether you’re getting a 3D scan and we’re doing a simulation of where your teeth are and where they’re going, whether we’re treating the whole patient, we are taking a 3D x-ray, which is unique, and we’re looking at airway and health and how that works for patients and trying to prevent things like sleep apnea, which is a big problem in a lot of patients. And then taking that journey to customized braces or customized aligners or some kind of treatment for airway. And then setting you up with an app where you can literally message us seven days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM. And you get a real response from a real person, not a bot, and then take that journey through whatever it is, a year or two.

You’re not going to find anything like that almost across the country, to be honest. And so it’s been an awesome privilege and a lot of work to create that, and we’ve really enjoyed that. There are patients that come and experience that and are kind of blown away with what we do. The things that I really enjoy about coming to work, of course, is the people I work with and then patients. So it’s all built on relationships, whether it’s virtual or in person. The other part that I really enjoy is the creative aspect. So I like to come in and create and try to build something that is unique, that gives me joy. Right? That process of imagining something and then working towards making that happen. Everything we do is really internet-based or software-based. When we run a day, you’ll see every single computer has two or three monitors because we’re on two or three different softwares at any given time, even just to see a regular appointment for a patient.

So having that internet connectivity is critical for us. When you’re looking at something like a DSL or cable or internet or Ethernet, something like that, that’s going to serve you well for about 99, 98% of the time. But I know as a business that if there’s that one or 2% where that isn’t up for us, it would ruin us. We would not be able to function in any sense. We wouldn’t be able to see patient charts, we wouldn’t be able to see our virtual appointments, we wouldn’t be able to plan our digital braces. We’d be adrift and dead in the water. So if the internet wasn’t working for us, it would almost not make sense to come into work. The other side of the equation for us is because we’re working in huge digital files, so I’m taking 3D x-ray files or 3D treatment planning constantly, and we’re uploading and downloading those throughout the day.

When you’re talking about a fiber option, being able to upload and download at 100 megs and be true fiber for us is a game changer; that makes that process doable for us because we’re really working in just a mass amount of information constantly. So as far as the Uniti team, they’ve been fantastic at taking care of us, from that switching or installation process to even checking in and being flexible with us as we meet the needs of what our company needs. And so for us, I can honestly say we haven’t had a single minute where Uniti Fiber has been down; it’s been super fast. And so as a business owner, you want to take things off your plate and not have to worry about it, and that’s what Uniti Fiber has been for us.

It’s been perfect. It’s what we needed, and it’s been consistent. So I have no even negative things to say. It’s been a wonderful experience. What I would say for us is Uniti has been faster, cheaper, and more personable; it’s everything we’ve wanted, so definitely look into it. Uniti has been fantastic for us and our business. We wouldn’t go back or change again.
