Tallahassee Medical Group is a new group made up of two brothers, Dr. Hugh and Cody VanLandingham. Combined, they have over 30 years of experience. So they are very well-known in the community, and we are able to provide services to the community all the way from newborn to geriatrics. Every patient, they love them. They don’t feel like they’re rushed in, out of their appointments and that rings all the way down to the staff. And so when it starts at the top, they set that kind of tone for the other employees. And when we all can come together and provide the best care that we can for our patients, that is the ultimate goal between the physicians and the employees. It’s been an honor to work beside the both of them.
What makes Tallahassee Medical Group unique is the connection to the patients and being able to… Each one of the physicians and the providers, along with the staff, they’re able to make that connection. Whether it’s in a room, if it’s at the front desk, if it’s on the phone, we’re able to make that connection with the patients, and that’s what they really enjoy. That’s why we have such a good following with the community. Every day I come in here, lives are being changed and it makes it all worth it.
So initially, I was introduced to Uniti through our IT department. They introduced me to one of the representatives with Uniti, and met with him. We had this big transition that we were about to go through. We have a building that was older, that had a lot of interesting things about it that you have to work through. And someone to come in and be able to look at that, digest it, and be able to come up with something that would fit our needs and be able to do it so efficiently so we didn’t go down and we didn’t have any delays in anything was very important.
We first did internet and then we did transition over to the voice, and that was a very smooth process. There has been a huge change with the connectivity with going to Uniti. There have not been any downs so far. The speed has been great. The physicians are very happy that the speed has gone up. The staff is very happy. We don’t get the little circle of death, the ring of death. But being able to connect, not have any slowness is key because we do depend a lot on it. We have all electronic medical records. We do everything electronically. We send referrals. We send everything to the community and outside of the community.
The voice product has been great. We do have a call center, and the staff has been using that, and they really do enjoy what that call center does bring and those features that they did not have before. It helps that whole process of being able to make sure that we can get the patient who’s on the phone to the appropriate person in a timely manner. Telemedicine, since the pandemic, it has become very important. And so being able to stay connected and making sure that connection is there when we have to depend on that for the physicians and the other providers to go ahead and connect to those patients who don’t want to be down for that, so being able to stay connected, have that call go through without any problems, is a great thing.
With Uniti, if anybody is thinking about going to them, I would highly recommend it. It has been a smooth process from the beginning through to the end. We have had a great success with it. We haven’t had any drops. We haven’t had any issues. We’ve only gotten better. It’s only excelled us to be able to perform better for not only ourselves but for the patients.
