Greg Ortyl:
Hey guys, coming to you live from International Telecoms Week here just outside of Washington D.C. 4,000 of my closest friends from across the world gather here over two and a half days, talk about telecom and dark fiber and waves and connectivity and infrastructure that they need all over the world, to be honest with you. And obviously, here at Uniti, we try to help them out, find their solutions in North America. Just back here between the escalators, we have the Uniti meeting rooms, packed from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day. We have over 90 meetings, meeting with the hyper-scalers, the wireless providers, the largest telcos, cable companies, ISPs, in the country, all the Latin American carriers. It’s just been a fantastic show, one of my favorites of the year, and look forward to wrapping the show up tomorrow around noon.
So one of the things that we do here at these trade shows, and especially a big one like ITW here, is we try to schedule some time out of the meeting rooms. It’s so much like speed dating, 10, 15 meetings back to back to back, so we want to get these customers of ours out of the stuffiness of the meeting rooms, somewhere where they can kind of let their hair down, relax a little bit, have some drinks. So we hosted an 80s party last night.
Stephen Hartman:
We’re excited, after a long day of face-to-face meetings, talking about opportunities with our colleagues, to settle down, have a cocktail, and enjoy, this year, an 80s theme party on the rooftop of the Gaylord Hotel.
Greg Ortyl:
And it was just a great night. We had several hundred people in at attendance and we were able to really spend quality time with the customers, really connect with them, and really, that’s where you’re bonding and building that relationship with a customer that’ll hopefully prove fruitful in the future years.
David Loeffler:
Always a great show for us to meet our customers. We’re launching new initiatives this year with our customer base, 100 gig services from Dallas to Atlanta, Atlanta to Ashburn, and Atlanta to Miami. We’re also focusing on a local access initiative that is expanding our current markets in the Uniti Fiber footprint, places like Jacksonville, Florida, Birmingham, Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and so forth. It’s a great initiative. Our customers are really interested in these and we’re real excited about it. The one thing I love about this show is the fact that I’ve been coming here for 10 to 15 years and it never really changes, but with Uniti Fiber, it’s been a big change this year because in previous years, we talked just about the southeastern course of the United States, but with all of our initiatives to add fiber to our network, we’re now selling fiber in other parts of the country, which opens up the doors to other vendors, other customers, and new conversations with new customers. So it’s a great audience for us and a great time to be here.
Greg Ortyl:
So we’ve had an unbelievable time here at ITW this year, just wrapping up a tremendous show. I cannot wait to hear the downloads from all the sales directors about all the great meetings they had, all the opportunities that are going to get dumped into Salesforce, and we’re going to just crush it the rest of the year. So excited. And actually, if you’ll excuse me, I got to run to a meeting right now. Thanks, guys.
