Eric Daniels
Senior Vice President—Network, Uniti Fiber
Eric Daniels is Uniti Fiber’s Senior Vice President of Network. In his current role, he leads a team of over 400 employees and is responsible for the construction and operation of over 18,000 miles of fiber optic networks throughout the South, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwestern United States.
Prior to its purchase by Uniti Group in 2017, Daniels served as founding partner and Chief Operating Officer of Southern Light, growing the business from its inception to eventually constructing and operating nearly 6,000 miles of fiber optic cable infrastructure. With a team of 250 employees, Daniels oversaw the engineering, construction and ongoing management of the company’s physical and logical networks.
With a Navy career spanning from 1989 to 2015, Daniels retired as a Commander after serving in both the active duty Navy and the Navy Reserve, and was awarded two Meritorious Service Medals, four Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, and a variety of campaign and service ribbons. He was involved in nearly every major theater of operations, and was mobilized in 2003 for OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.
Daniels is a native of Mobile, Alabama and a graduate of the US Naval Academy, the Surface Warfare Officer School, and the AEGIS Combat Systems Officer School.
